The neighbourhood is located between two LRT train stations, the Heritage and Southland Stations, which means an easy commute for everyone to downtown for work and events such as the Calgary Stampede, hockey games at the Saddledome, and other exciting activities.

Recreation in Acadia, Calgary

For those who love the outdoors, the neighbourhood has Acadia Athletic Park, Arlington Park, Bonaventure Park, and some other great spaces and pathways nearby. Just to the east of Acadia is Carburn Park, where there are two man-made ponds for fishing, canoeing, and paddle boating, as well as walking trails, and tables and benches for picnicking. For indoor recreation, located in the middle of the community is the Acadia Aquatic & Fitness Centre, recently renovated and offering a pool, weight room, and fitness classes. The Acadia Community Association has a great recreation complex with 10 curling sheets, 5 squash/racquetball courts, an indoor hockey rink, and hall and conference rooms for rental.
